Getting Ready for 2019

Last month I looked back at 2018.  Now I want to take a look ahead to 2019.  Here are a few things we will be working on …

Line Work – As with most years, we plan to replace 30-40 miles of power line across our system.  We will also continue our tree trimming program to maintain clean right of ways for our lines.

Safety Demonstrations – We have been doing 10-12 high-voltage safety demonstrations each year and 2019 looks like more of the same.  Our linemen provide these demonstrations for schools, firemen, law enforcement, and agricultural groups.  If you would like to schedule an event or need more information, please give us a call.

Residential Peak Reduction Program – We have successfully run this pilot program the past two years and will likely offer it as a standard residential rate option in 2019.  Stay tuned for more details in the months ahead.

New Metering System – We started replacing our old metering system in late 2018 and will continue to replace meters throughout 2019.  The plan is to have all meters replaced by summer of 2020.

Member Advisory Committee – This committee, which consists of members, meets two or three times a year to discuss issues and ideas.  We will be actively seeking members to serve on the committee in 2019.  If you have an interest or would like more information, please call and ask for Derrick Rutherford or you can email him at drutherford@dsoelectric.com.
